First half of August 2011 - various sites in Oxon

This is my second catch-up posting - delays owing to two small kids who need a bit of Daddy time. Highlight of this part of the month was this fine Square-spotted Clay caught at Wittenham Clumps.

The highlight had previously been the first of three Waved Blacks - this female (it subsequently laid eggs) was caught on a night out to Harcourt Arboretum. Having seen one earlier in the night but not caught it, this one turned up in Richard Comont's trap just after I'd departed.... Would I ever catch one? Orange Swift - I do like these
