10 May 2022 - Small Blue butterfly on Frackenden Down

A lovely Small Blue on Kent Wildlife Trust's Fackenden Down reserve this evening. Apart from a brief one snapped on the coast, this is the first proper shots of this species since I were a wee nipper!

5 May 2022 - Marpissa spid on a bench...

Spent some quality apres-office time with this smart spid. She (I think) had lovely eyes and very hairy legs... Marpissa muscosa perhaps (and now confirmed) - it was on a fence post (in Ditton, Kent). 

30 April 2022 - Samphire Hoe and The Warren for Early Spider Orchids and stuff

Max and I had a great trip out to Samphire Hoe, enjoying the Early Spider Orchids and Wall butterflies, amongst many other inverts. The Italian Wall Lizards at the Little Switzerland cafe performed as well as ever outside the ladies toilets...

This Snow Bunting put on quite a performance when it eventually gave itself up! A showy little performer - lovely to watch as it preened in the winter sunshine.
