24 March 2010 - Blairgowrie, Scotland

More seedeaters in the garden as a result of the liberal offering I'm throwing around. This female Yellowhammer was the first of the year in the garden.

Whilst driving up to see Mountain Hares at Glenshee, this 'sleeping' male Crossbill was found lying on its side in the middle of the road. (Will check the biometrics of it soon).

Wow - two days after catching the grey phase Tawny Owl, this rufous phase gem arrives for a cuddle. Bit like London buses really...

3 March 2010 - Blairgowrie, Scotland

Some cold days up here at the moment - this Fieldfare was feeding on the many apples that I'm putting out for the thrushes at the moment. I caught 25 Blackbirds in the garden up to mid-March - all of which moved away by 21st March.

This Common Hare took to frequenting the flower beds for shelter. Only 5 metres from the back window.

1 March 2010 - Blairgowrie, Scotland

This superb grey phase Tawny Owl caught last night. Amazing bird with a totally different plumage to the one I expected (rufous). Grey phase being more common the further north you go (I think)!
