22 March 2009 - New Hythe Lakes

A nice Comma performed well on a stick having been pushed off the path by the numerous dog walkers and cyclists.

Also seen on this family ramble was this Orange Underwing - I thought it was a good find until the book said it was common at this time of year and Steve also had one round the lakes on a similar date.

Peacock butterfly keeping snug in the sun - a surpringly hairy insect!

17 March 2009 - Ditton Quarry

A lunchtime ramble with Adam over Ditton Quarry provided us with ample opportunity to take the p*ss out of each other and then see a few bits - not that there were any interesting Redpolls to mull over...

Common Lizard was my first of the year.

I'm guessing that this Comma had overwintered as its wings were completely shagged.

Peacock - always nice to see.
